Rita Thomas Complementary Therapies Practitioner
I studied at Cardiff Metropolitan University for three years where I achieved a
BSc (Hons) degree in Complementary Therapies (2013), qualifying in
Massage - level 4 (2011), Reflexology and Clinical Aromatherapy - level 5 (2012).
During this time I also attended courses on:
Advanced Spinal Techniques - Reflexology
Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage
Advance Massage Skills
Whilst attending Cardiff Metropolitan University I took every opportunity to further my knowledge and experiences, and I was fortunate to work with a team of masseurs at the Welsh Athletic Championships, providing massages for the athletes, both before and after their events (2011). We were invited back the following year to attend the Welsh Athletic Internationals (Olympic warm-ups) where we provided massages for the athletes including some of the USA Olympic athletic team (2012)
In my final year, my placement was in a Penarth Hospice where I had the privilege to work with clients and carers. All of the clients had various terminal conditions and reflexology was enjoyed by all of them.
The research project for my degree involved the study of the effects of aromatherapy
massage and the essential oils on menopausal women who were experiencing insomnia.
I am a registered therapist with the following professional bodies:
